Episode 82 Follow-Up Interview with Kristin and Aavron
This past December, as a special holiday bonus for my listeners, I went live for the first time ever with climbing partners Aavron (from Episode 82: Impaled on Mt. Rainier) and Kristin.
As heard in the episode, Aavron slipped while climbing Rainier, pulling his climbing partner, Kristin, down a slippery slope with him. During the fall, he was impaled by his ice ax and surgeons said that packing the wound with snow very likely saved his life.
During my live follow-up interview, I was able to discuss the accident in more depth, this time from Kristin’s side of the story as the one who was pulled down the mountain and broke both of her legs. We also checked in on their recovery process, the mental toll of recovery (which I deeply relate to as someone who has been recovering from knee surgery), and answered listener questions.
